The fire suppression system is environmentally inert. High Impact Technology has sponsored several independent tests to reach the current TRL 7 for multiple platforms. Test data available upon request. Additional platform design and testing is available throughout this process.

ABSTRACT

Vehicle and crew survivability continues to be the main priority for warfighters throughout the world. Even though great strides have been made to enhance hard armor packages, the risk of vulnerable fuel cells rupturing and initiating a vehicle fire due to overmatching IED’s and mines has placed the warfighter at risk. High Impact Technology, LLC took a look at these critical issues and created the Hextinguish™ system, the first intimately bonded and field-repairable passive fire suppression system for vehicles and critical infrastructure.

APPLICATION

Each individual packet in the fire suppression network, regardless of shape, is designed to be independently repaired at a level 2 field motor pool facility.










TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

COMPONENT

Each Hextinguish™ fire suppression system is comprised of the following components:

  • Hextinguish™ passive fire suppression network packets
  • Semi-rigid reinforced structural material designed to the specifications of each fuel tank
  • Proprietary flame-resistant (FR) resin finish

TECHNOLOGY

The Hextinguish™ fire suppression system is an intimately bonded network of field- repairable fire suppression packets. The packets contain industry-proven fire retardant that is instantly released when punctured by large threats such as fragmentation or a blast wave rupture. The Hextinguish™ technology affords the warfighter added survivability by eliminating common fuel cell fire hazards as a completely passive and maintenance- free system.
